Professional Experience
Mitchell “Luke” Calhoun’s entire practice is devoted to defending the rights of those accused of crimes in Texas state courts. Luke has tried nearly 100 jury trials to verdict and has handled thousands of cases, from Capital Murder to Driving While Intoxicated. His extensive experience and straightforward communication style are valuable assets in the corner of anyone accused of a crime.
As an Assistant District Attorney for Collin County for nearly a decade, Luke earned a reputation as an aggressive trial lawyer known throughout the Collin County legal community. His painstaking preparation, passionate arguments, and persuasive ability to relate to a jury not only as a lawyer but as a person resulted in him achieving the rank of Chief Felony Prosecutor.
As a “Chief Prosecutor,” he handled many of the county’s most high-profile cases, including Capital Murders, Murders, and Aggravated Robberies. His cases have been featured in Texas Monthly, The Dallas Morning News, and other publications. He was the direct supervisor of many current Collin County prosecutors and was responsible for managing the dockets of several Collin County District Courts. Luke has taught law enforcement officers, lawyers, and law students on a variety of subject matter, including investigations, criminal law, and trial advocacy.
As a founding partner of Dotzel Calhoun, LP, Luke knows the weight that sits on the shoulders of those accused of a crime and would take pride in representing you. Call 972-372-9383 or email [email protected] for a free consultation today.
